Author. Boston Whaler Harpoon Owners 5 years ago i bought a boston whaler harpoon sailboat. Today, i still love it as much as ever. Its given me and my family great memories as it holds upwards of 7/8 people, its always a party. If anyone else has one of these beauties, please share pictures or stories. For its age, this maybe the nicest cruising Harpoon 5.2 on the market. Mechanically, structurally and cosmetically the boat is in excellent working order. The hull and gelcoat have a few scratches and the bottom paint has been sanded and smoothed down. The original mahogany woodwork (seats and trim) shows little evidence of wear. She's a 1979 Boston Whaler Harpoon 5.2, just over 17 feet long. This picture was taken when I first got her--she doesn't look quite as nice now after my learning fiberglass and gelcoat repair on her, but she's still a beautiful boat.
