¿Y qué hago para enseñar a los adolescentes de hoy?

¿Cómo hace el docente para mantenerlos en el aula y que aprendan?
¿Cómo lograr su atención y respeto?

Los docentes nos vemos enfrentados día a día a un sin número de interrogantes sobre las estrategias o metodologías para lograr que los estudiantes aprendan y desarrollen las competencias necesarias para su desempeño personal, social y profesional. Hemos de decir que no es tarea fácil, se ha de ir más allá considerando el perfil adolescente y planteamiento de estrategias acordes.

Si pensamos en las estrategias posibles, un docente entrevistado mencionaba "el juego competitivo, la dramatización, el debate, la escritura de reseñas críticas, el conectar los contenidos constantemente con el mundo real, etc., donde el trabajo intelectual va acompañado con la oportunidad que se les da a los jóvenes de dar rienda suelta a sus inquietudes de expresar ideas o sentimientos"

Un acercamiento a la pregunta ¿Qué cosas han sido útiles en tu práctica docente con adolescentes?
Empezaré por lo que NO ha sido útil:
1. El protagonismo docente no es útil.
2. Ser parlanchín o presuntuoso no es útil.
3. Hablar de uno mismo no es útil.
4. Ser inconsistente e inconstante no es útil.
5. Estar desconectado del trabajo académico de los otros maestros no es útil.
6. Imponer las cosas a fuerza de autoridad no es útil
7. Exponer y exponer y exponer, así como lo contrario (no estar) es inútil.

Es útil.
1. Estar relacionado y acordar prácticas comunes (de disciplina, didácticas y administrativas) con otros docentes que imparten al mismo grupo.
2. Ser constante en preparar tus clases y mantenerte siempre en un mismo nivel.
3. Dejar que el conocimiento sea el invitado al baile, nosotros los músicos y los estudiantes bailarines principales.
4. Persuadir, ejemplificar y evaluar el desempeño, no a la persona. Sí, con respeto y con esperanza (aunque parezca difícil, la esperanza fácil no es esperanza)
5. Ser paciente con el comportamiento de los estudiantes (cada docente es responsable de todo el proceso en conjunto con el grupo de docentes y el equipo directivo y administrativo de la escuela) Si los docentes entre sí están incomunicados y estos con los directivos y administrativos... será difícil un resultado serio.
6. Tu persona dentro y fuera del aula enseña más que lo que tus palabras. el lenguaje no verbal (proxemia, kinesis, etc), el paralenguaje (tono, volumen, velocidad, etc., de tu voz) tienen un gran impacto.
7. Ten Fé. Somos apenas un instante en la vida de cada estudiante y ellos, como nosotros están haciéndose a sí mismos tomando de aquí y de allá.

La sociedad de conocimiento es realmente una sociedad de aprendizaje. Lo que significa que estas sociedades generan una gran cantidad de informaciones y conocimientos potenciadores de la inventiva y la creatividad, lo que hace que sean competitivas y adaptativas a los modernos sistemas económicos cambiantes. Dependen tanto de la inteligencia colectiva como individual, y permiten a sus miembros numerosas oportunidades para aumentar la cualificación y el reciclaje. Sin embargo, la labor de los docentes, en muchos momentos, no es fácil ni gratificante. Actualmente los docentes se encuentran atrapados en un triángulo fatídico en continua competencia al ser al tiempo catalizadores, víctimas y contrapuntos de la sociedad del conocimiento. Las interacciones entre estas tres fuerzas y sus efectos “están dando forma a la naturaleza de la enseñanza, a lo que quiere decir ser docente, y a la mismísima viabilidad de la enseñanza como una profesión en la sociedad del conocimiento. En definitiva, enseñar para una sociedad del conocimiento implica potenciar las siguientes capacidades: desarrollar un profundo aprendizaje cognitivo, la creatividad, inventiva, la investigación, el trabajo en redes y equipos, la formación profesional permanente, promover la resolución de problemas, la asunción de riesgos, la confianza en el proceso de colaboración, la habilidad para enfrentarse a los cambios y comprometerse en la mejora continua como individuo y organización.

Estimada colega.
Vivo en Cuba y he compartido muchas experiencias donde los niños, adolescentes y jóvenes aprenden y se insertan en la vida, desde sus propios recursos personológicos, que previo a esto han compartido con otros coetáneos o con sus profesores.
Un aprendizaje donde los roles de educador y estudiante se entrelazan en un aprendizaje mutuo, pero siempre tomando en cuenta lo que plantea Paolo Freire, sin que sea neutral la posición del profesor y sin perder su autoridad como educador. La inserción en la práctica y desde la práctica los motiva y compromete con su propio futuro.
Que logren en el aprendizaje partir de sus vivencias, de lo que ya conocen desde la empiria o estudios precedentes, compartir la teoría ya más elevada con respecto a sus conocimientos previos y llegar a conclusiones tanto individual como a nivel grupal, que lespermita alcanzar una práctica más cretaiva, necesaria, útil para él o ella y sus semejantes, ese conocimiento aprendido, lo compromete con su autotransformación como ser humano y la transformación de la realidad.
Múltiples ejemplos de esta práctica se vivencian día a día, no solamente es que se utilicen el juego de roles, o las dramatizaciones, entre otras técnicas participativas, no es utilizar una técnica participativa, para mover una dinámica, sino también es mover la dinámica en el proceso de enseñanza aprendizaje del conocimiento.
Al menos esta forma de promover el proceso de enseñanaza aprendizaje a mi juicio, ya sea en un conocimiento tanto de Ciencias Sociales como en Ciencias Exactas, es decir, el partir de la práctica, atravesar la teoría y llegar a una práctica transformadora, promueve un proceso de autoaprendizaje y aprendizaje colectivo, que además de lograr que se eleve la preparación cognoscitiva, promueve sentimientos, valores, en ese compartir.
Me agrada mucho compartir estas ideas que no son únicas, ni absolutas, pero que a mi como profesional de la Educación me han dado resultados. Muchas gracias por el espacio de debate.

Al inicio de la educación superior, la mayoría de los estudiantes que ingresan a las IES son aún adolescentes, por lo cual se debe elaborar una planificación con estrategias y metodologías que generen el interés y despierten la curiosidad en los estudiantes. Claro que no estamos libres de problemas que puedan resultar en los adolescentes, pero debemos poder encontrar las posibles soluciones y tratar de realizar una vinculación del ámbito académico y afectivo. También la mejor manera de generar interés es mediante la relación de la teoría con la práctica.

Desde mi experiencia como docente en colegio secundario con estudiantes del último año, a sido no muy placentero, es difícil con algunos grupos y con otros es más llevadera la docencia.
Para los grupos más indisciplinados, no los dejaba respirar, desde que entraba a aula revisaba las tareas de casa, luego hacia una introducción al tema contextualizado a la realidad, debatíamos y luego hacia una evaluación, para ello le entregaba un material preparado con indicadores. Era más trabajo para el docente por que a la clase siguiente te pedían sus resultados. Además, entregaba tarea para su casa.
Se cuenta con indicadores transversales que en cada clases se anotaban a los estudiantes que destacaban positivamente y también a los que no tenían comportamiento adecuado en aula.
